As of 1 January, Vanderlande has become a member of the partner board of ESI. This has been announced at the board’s most recent meeting. The Veghel-based expert in logistics automation joins ASML, Canon Production Printing, Nexperia spinout ITEC, Philips, Thales, Thermo Fisher Scientific, TNO and the universities of Amsterdam, Delft, Eindhoven, Nijmegen and Twente. Applying the latest scientific insights, ESI develops methodologies and tools for high-tech systems engineering, which are tested and validated in practice at the partners’ premises.

Vanderlande and ESI have a long-standing working relationship in various fields. The logistics specialist decided to intensify their collaboration with a partnership following a recent project in which it made use of ESI’s knowledge and expertise to work more efficiently with model-based methodologies. “By joining the ESI partner board, we can strengthen our relationship,” comments Maarten Verhoeven, executive director for architecture and integration at Vanderlande. “This will help us boost the competitive position of the Dutch high-tech industry and Vanderlande in particular.”

“Vanderlande’s customer-oriented approach involves a lot of customization and their platform approach has a lot of overlap with the model-driven approach of the existing partners,” adds Frans Beenker, ESI’s commercial director. “This is how the high-tech industry in our ecosystem benefits from each other’s knowledge and skills. Something that Vanderlande recognizes.”
