TSMC will need at least until August before making a decision about building a fab in Germany, a company executive told reporters at an event in Amsterdam. “So far, lots of good progress has been made, we have great support from local government, as well as the EU government, but we’re going through our internal review and approval process,” he said. According to an earlier report, TSMC is working with multiple European automotive IC suppliers including NXP to set up the 28nm plant.
