Semiconductor sales continue to recover
Despite a small sequential decrease, global semiconductor industry sales increased 16.3 percent year-on-year in February, according to data released by the Semiconductor Industry Association. “Although month-to-month sales were down slightly, they increased on a year-to-year basis by the largest percentage since May 2022, and market growth is projected to persist during the remainder of the year,” commented SIA CEO John Neuffer.
SIA’s monthly sales reports are compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization and represent a three-month moving average. SIA represents 99 percent of the US semiconductor industry by revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-US chip firms.
