Rabobank Regio Eindhoven has earmarked 1 billion euros for investment in the Brainport region over the next three years, reports Eindhovens Dagblad (link in Dutch). The larger part will be given out as bank loans, but a significant remainder will be used to start venture capital funds: the Rabobank Brainport Startup Fund (initially containing 25 million euros), the Rabobank Brainport Scale-up Fund (75 million) and the Brainport Venture Fund (50 million from Rabobank, an additional 150 million from others). If proven successful, the funds will be expanded.
