Philips intends to add Feike Sijbesma and Peter Löscher to its supervisory board. Sijbesma has been serving 20 years on the management board of DSM, thirteen of which as CEO. He recently announced his retirement from the Dutch life science and materials company. He will leave DSM on 1 May. Löscher held several positions in the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries, at companies such as Merck, GE Healthcare and Siemens. The latter two are Philips’ major competitors.

“We’re pleased that Feike Sijbesma and Peter Löscher are available to join Philips’ supervisory board,” said board chairman Jeroen van der Veer. “Mr. Sijbesma is a recognized business and sustainability leader, while Mr. Löscher is a seasoned business leader in the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries. Their outstanding experience will be highly valuable to Philips, as the company is expanding its leadership in health technology solutions.”
