Philips delivered sales of 4.7 billion euros in the third quarter, with a 6-percent comparable sales growth. The Diagnosis & Treatment businesses recorded a 9-percent comparable sales growth, whereas Connected Care increased 5 percent and Personal Health marked a 6-percent comparable sales growth. Income from continuing operations was 211 million euros, compared to 307 million in the third quarter of 2018.
“In the third quarter, we delivered mixed results for the group. The strong 6-percent comparable sales growth was driven by the innovative products and solutions across our businesses. Comparable order intake was flat, on the back of strong 11-percent growth in the third quarter of 2018, reflecting the unevenness of order intake dynamics and softness in North America. Over the last 12 months, comparable order intake grew 5 percent,” commented CEO Frans van Houten.
