Richard Visser will be heading up Holland Semiconductors, the trade organization formerly known as BCSemi NL that was recently integrated into High Tech NL. Visser is succeeding Barry Peet, who became general manager of the Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC).

Visser founded Smartphotonics, a foundry for integrated photonics. After years of pioneering, the spinoff from Eindhoven University of Technology and Philips has been gearing up for medium to high-volume production. Given the new phase the company was entering, Visser last year passed the baton (link in Dutch) to Johan Feenstra, the former CEO of Liquavista who at the time was already involved with Smartphotonics. Visser initially remained at the company as the chief commercial officer but apparently has moved on.
