Dutch satellite IoT expert Hiber is flying high. The company just revealed it has received a boost of 26 million euros from the EU’s European Innovation Council (EIC) fund. The funds are earmarked to help the Amsterdam-based startup expand on its world’s-first global IoT satellite network. The announcement comes as the EU recently revealed its “New Space” sector ambitions for Europe to play a more prominent role in the global space sector and enhance its autonomy.

“The €26 million funding is a fantastic validation for Hiber’s success and a major boost for the European ‘New Space’ sector,” says Hiber CSO and co-founder Coen Janssen. “It’s a key step in realizing our aim of making the Internet of Things really simple and available for everyone in remote and developing regions of the world.”
