EIT interim director Kern appointed permanently

The governing board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has appointed Martin Kern director. Finally, one could say, because he has been leading the organization as interim director longer than any of his predecessors. Since 2014, Kern has expanded the number of Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) from three to eight. Among those five new ones is the Urban Mobility KIC, in which many Dutch companies and organizations participate. Prior to joining the EIT, Kern worked at the European Commission in a variety of posts in various countries.
