Eindhoven-based integrated photonics company Effect Photonics has completed a series-C funding round of undisclosed size. The round was co-led by a new investor, Smile Invest from Lubbeek, Belgium, together with an existing partner, the Innovation Industries Fund. Previous investors Photondelta, Btov Partners, Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and several private parties also participated in this round.

Effect Photonics develops and markets optical transceivers for 5G and data center applications. Its products are based on a single photonic integrated circuit (PIC), featuring dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) functionality, which increases capacity, and tunable lasers, which enables automatic channel tuning.
The raised capital will used scale up production and developed higher-capacity products.
