Chinese GaN-on-Si power electronics manufacturer Innoscience has expanded its European office with an R&D center in Leuven. The company already had a design and sales support facility in Flanders, which thanks to the presence of Imec, the KU Leuven and a recently established GaN-foundry in Oudenaarde has started to present itself as “GaN Valley.”

Integrated device manufacturer Innoscience was founded in 2015 with investments from Arm, Korean conglomerate SK and Chinese battery manufacturer CATL, among others. Headquartered in Suzhou, the company runs two wafer fabs, including a dedicated 8-inch wafer line projected to process 70,000 wafers per month in 2025.
