ASMI continues solid performance despite corona issues
Even though the COVID-19 outbreak is causing ASM International some supply chain and logistical problems, it’s sticking more or less to its previously communicated outlook. After performing slightly above guidance in Q1, the company is still expecting a solid Q2. Looking further ahead is difficult in current circumstances, but the backlog is strong, notes CEO Chuck del Prado.
ASMI’s Q1 revenue came in at 325 million euros, 6 percent below the Q4 level excluding the proceeds of an arbitration settlement, but 31 percent above the level in the same period of last year. Order intake dropped 22 percent sequentially to 334 million euros, but that’s still slightly better than expected.
The Almere-based equipment maker expects Q2 revenue to be in the 300-350 million euros range. That outlook is slightly widened, as the company previously guided 330-350 million euros.
