In Q3 2019, Agfa-Gevaert posted earnings of 553 million euros, a 2.6 percent rise compared to the same period last year. Offset Solutions, the company’s largest division, saw an increase in revenue (+3.6 percent), as did Radiology Solutions (+11.8 percent) and Healthcare IT (+5.0 percent). This was offset by a decline at Digital Print & Chemicals (-13.0 percent). The group’s net result amounted to a loss of 4 million euros, compared to minus 5 million euros in Q3 2018.

“For the second quarter in a row, we’re able to report top-line growth,” comments Christian Reinaudo, president and CEO of the imaging specialist from Mortsel. “Most of our growth engines performed well and the hardcopy range continued to benefit from the reorganization of the Chinese distribution channels. Within the Healthcare IT division, especially the Healthcare Information Solutions business performed well. As announced in August, the termination of the reseller activities related to inkjet media in the US impacted the top line of the Digital Print & Chemicals division.”
In the third quarter, Agfa launched the auction process for the sale of part of its healthcare IT activities. According to Reinaudo, it’s progressing according to plan. He hopes to finish this auction process by the end of the year.
